Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern access to and use of the MyBonsaiHub service, available at mybonsaihub.com, published by AkroLabs (micro-entrepreneur, France).

Registering for the service constitutes full and unreserved acceptance of these Terms. If you do not accept these terms, please do not use the service.

The service is accessible to any individual who:

• Is at least 16 years old
• Has a valid email address
• Has created a personal account

MyBonsaiHub reserves the right to suspend or delete any account that violates these Terms, without prior notice or refund.

The service is offered in three plans:

Free — no commitment, no credit card required

• Up to 5 bonsais
• Evolution timeline
• Customizable reminders
• Before/after slider
• Encyclopedia (5 tabs)
• Glossary
• Public profile (max 3 trees)

Premium — €3.99/month or €39/year

• Everything in Free, plus:
• Unlimited collection
• Automatic reminders by species (repotting & wiring)
• Weather alerts (frost, heat, wind & storms)
• Weather widget D+0 to D+3
• Full encyclopedia (all tabs)
• Priority support
• Premium badge

Founder Pack — €99 (one-time payment, 50 spots maximum)

• Everything in Premium, plus:
• 3 years of Premium (€99 instead of €117)
• Early beta access
• Priority vote on the roadmap
• Direct access to the developer
• Exclusive Founder badge (盆栽 seal)

Prices are inclusive of applicable taxes. MyBonsaiHub reserves the right to modify its pricing with 30 days' prior notice to existing subscribers.

Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing to Premium, you authorise automatic billing at the chosen frequency (monthly or annual).

• You may cancel at any time from your profile settings
• Premium access remains active until the end of the paid period
• No pro-rata refunds for mid-period cancellations
• The Founder Pack is a one-time purchase, non-refundable after 14 days

MyBonsaiHub offers gift codes allowing you to give a Premium credit to someone else.

• Gift codes have no monetary value and may not be resold
• When a recipient email is provided, only the account associated with that address may redeem the code. Without a specified recipient, the code is redeemable by its bearer
• Gift codes expire 12 months after creation if not redeemed
• Once activated, Premium credit is permanently attached to the recipient account, without prejudice to statutory rights applying to the initial purchase
• Future changes to gift code terms will be communicated without affecting codes already purchased
• Any detected abuse (bulk code purchases, resale, fraud) will result in immediate code cancellation and account suspension

When a Premium or Founder subscription expires or is cancelled and the account reverts to the Free plan, the following rules apply:

• The 5 most recently created bonsais remain fully accessible (viewing, editing, timeline, reminders).
• Bonsais beyond this limit are preserved in the database but placed in read-only mode ("frozen"): they are visible but cannot be edited or have their timeline updated until Premium access is restored.
• The user may delete frozen bonsais at any time to free up slots within the free limit.
• No data is deleted due to a downgrade alone. All bonsais, photos, and timeline entries are retained and immediately restored to full access upon resubscription.
• MyBonsaiHub reserves the right to delete inactive account data after a period of inactivity of more than 24 months, after prior notice by email.

MyBonsaiHub offers a referral programme allowing any registered user to invite friends via a personalised code or link.

• For the referred user — the new referred member receives a discount automatically applied at their first Premium subscription checkout.
• For the referrer — a reward is credited to their account once the referred user subscribes to an eligible paid plan.
• Referral benefits have no monetary value, are non-refundable, and cannot be combined with each other.
• MyBonsaiHub reserves the right to modify, suspend or terminate the referral programme at any time, without prior notice.
• Any abuse (fake accounts, self-referral, fraudulent referrals) will result in cancellation of benefits and may lead to account suspension.

Under EU consumer law, you have 14 days from the date the contract is concluded to exercise your right of withdrawal without giving a reason.

If you expressly request immediate activation before this period ends and then withdraw after performance has begun, a proportionate amount for the service supplied up to your request may remain payable. No amount is due if that express request was not validly collected.

To exercise this right, email contact@mybonsaihub.com with your name, account email, purchased plan, order date, and an unambiguous statement that you wish to withdraw from the contract.

Bonsai data and photographs you publish remain your property. By publishing them, you grant MyBonsaiHub a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence limited to display within the scope of the service.

You warrant that you hold the necessary rights over published content and agree not to publish any unlawful, offensive, or third-party-infringing content.

The bonsai encyclopedia, texts, illustrations and databases produced by MyBonsaiHub are protected by copyright. Any commercial reproduction or publication without written authorisation is prohibited.

MyBonsaiHub strives to ensure service continuity but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability. Maintenance may cause temporary interruptions, announced in advance where possible.

Encyclopedia advice is informational and must be adapted to each tree and its environment. To the extent permitted by law, MyBonsaiHub is not liable for indirect damage caused by incorrect application of that advice or temporary service unavailability. Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory consumer rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded.

MyBonsaiHub may modify these Terms at any time. Users will be notified by email 30 days before substantial changes take effect. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

These Terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, an amicable resolution will be sought first. Failing that, the courts having jurisdiction under applicable law may be contacted.

After an unresolved prior written complaint, consumers may use the consumer mediator appointed by AkroLabs free of charge. The mediator’s name, postal address and website must be added here before paid sales open to the public. The former European ODR platform closed on 20 July 2025.
